4-Panel Vol. 2, Issue 35 – Dark Phoenix: Mad Jeans And Mutant Men

Get the headache tablets and the X-Men crazy wall ready because the Dark Phoenix movie is out soon, so we thought it would be a good idea to look back over the very convoluted history of the cosmic entity.

With a full wardrobe of sashes, shawls, capes, children from other timelines, alternate realities, no phoenixes, too many phoenixes, leather, spikes, death, resurrection, spandex (or lack thereof), big long coats, denim jeans (as opposed to the other types of Jean associated with the Phoenix), and Oprah – it’s a veritable smorgasbord of mutant mayhem.

After that it’s back to normal service with a look at the things we’ve been reading, which this week are Marvel Knights 20th, Black Panther Vs. Deadpool, Iceman: Amazing Friends, Jessica Jones: Purple Daughter, Runaways: That Was Yesterday, and Is This How You See Me by Jaime Hernandez (part of Love & Rockets).

Co-founder of The Geek Show Podcast Network. Chief Editor and Executive Producer of thegeekshow.co.uk, and tangentially overburdened host/co-presenter of several shows on the network. When I'm not engaged in production, journalistic shenanigans or the quagmire that is media criticism I watch movies, interesting TV shows and anime, I also enjoy the arts (you know, classical music and stuff), write many, many things, play and collect a lot of video games, read lots of manga, comics and books, and generally enjoy wallowing in the mass of entertainment media like a hippo in mud. I can also cook.
