Cinema Eclectica 210 – Jules & Jim Up A Mountain

At 210 episodes old we can ask for all the things in the world, but that doesn’t mean we’re going to get anything for this “obvious” landmark.

Besides, Rob and Aidan have a job to do.

This week it’s another of our regular Directors Lottery episodes, and the director in question for this rodeo is David Cronenberg. So what did we choose from his amazingly sticky filmography? It’s none other than Big Dave’s ultimate divorce movie, “The Brood”.

We also have a stacked Off The Shelf section, and kicking things off is Aidan with “The Holy Mountain” (not that one), while Rob looks at a film from the director of something dark, dangerous and unholy with “The Sender”. Meanwhile, Mick visits from afar with a sci-fi double in the form of “The Andromeda Strain” and “The China Syndrome”.

210 episodes and we still bring you all the movies. How cool are we? All the cool, that’s how cool.

When I'm not engaged in production, journalistic shenanigans or the quagmire that is media criticism I watch movies, interesting TV shows and anime, I also enjoy the arts (you know, classical music and stuff), write many, many things, play and collect a lot of video games, read lots of manga, comics and books, and generally enjoy wallowing in the mass of entertainment media like a hippo in mud. I can also cook.
