Cinema Eclectica 219 – Where’s My Mamma Roma in Your Pain & Glory?

Archaeon

This week Graham and Aidan tackle Pedro Almodóvar’s new semi-autobiographical film “Pain and Glory”, but even though it’s one of his most garlanded films in ages, we have to wonder how much pain we’re talking about, and what percentage is glorious?

Off the Shelf has a Second Run double-bill, with Aidan covering the new Blu-Ray of Karel Kachyna’s paranoia-fest “The Ear”, before Graham faces up to his own challenge with Marc Isaacs’s cult documentary “Philip and His Seven Wives”.

So three rich, complex, and challenging films – but don’t worry because next week we might be able to slack off.
