This week we invent an entirely new sub-genre of superhero movie.

In a typically eccentric Off the Shelf we look at Housebound – the 2014 festival hit from Australia, Korean student drama Bleak Night, the long lost BFI Flipside title Requiem for a Village, and the British gangster thriller Age of Kill – which may have been the resuly of losing a drunken bet. The elaborately titled Me and Earl and the Dying Girl is our Film of the Week.

Now if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to read this book that the police refuse to read.
