Hiroshima Death Match – Cinema Eclectica Podcast 275

Archaeon

We’ve got a big announcement about our Director’s Lottery feature this week, but for now we’re rolling as usual. Last week’s pick was Kinji Fukasaku, and from his ridiculously prolific career we picked Yakuza Papers vol 2: Hiroshima Death Match. If you think that’s a full-on title, wait til you see the relentlessly action-packed film.

Off the Shelf sees Graham review Mubi’s latest theatrical and streaming release, Malgorzata Szumowska’s atmospheric cult-themed chiller The Other Lamb. For an altogether more, uh, full-bodied horror experience Studio Canal have reissued 1960’s Circus of Horrors on Blu-Ray. Mick takes a look at that, and we end by finding the connection between Carl Th. Dreyer and Hammer Studios. Because of course, we do.
