Jacques Audiard (Read My Lips & Rust and Bone)

Archaeon

The podcast is going through a bit of a change in that we are becoming a 100% free deal. This means we have to increase the releases to weekly until we’ve cleared our backlog. So between now and 1st July, every Friday is Directors Uncut day.

This week, Graham (Pop Screen) joins Rob to talk about the contemporary French Director, Jacques Audiard. The films we discuss come in the shape of 2001’s Read My Lips and his 2012 breakout, Rust and Bone. Which, funnily enough, are weird echoes of one another.

After that, in a cutting from our penultimate Patreon exclusive (plans are afoot), Rob is joined by Ariel (Ghouls Magazine) and James (Reviewing Rodders) to talk about movies as diverse as SAW, Jackass Forever and Beyond the Infinite Two Minutes. A fun triple bill if ever I saw one, that.

Theme A1 Rogue by Podington Bear. Join us on PATREON for Doctor Who articles, a bonus episode of our sister podcast Pop Screen, and more…
