We aren’t a music website, never have been never will be. But that doesn’t mean we can’t dabble when it’s appropriate and right now, at the end of the year, when every website under the sun is doing its 2022 articles and coverage makes it appropriate. Some of the bands and artists featured include the likes of Denzel Curry, Soul Glo, Chat Pile and Witch Fever
As I said, we aren’t a music website so there will be no long series of pieces from a collection of writers on the music they thought made 2022 tick. Maybe in the future, sure, but this year we are just providing a Spotify playlist of all the music that I (I’m the editor so my house my rules) found interesting, cool, relevant or thrilling.
The following playlist heavily skews towards rock, metal & hip-hop. So between sonic style and lyrical content, there is some pretty strong material here. So, not for the easily offended. I suppose. Either way, it’s better than the same 12 Christmas songs played on infinite repeat.
Still to come are a few final reviews of the year and a mega double episode on the best films of the year courtesy of Directors Uncut and Pop Screen. But enough pre-amble, time for some music!
