MONSTROUS is a unique supernatural thriller, brought to UK VOD on Monday 11 June by Koch Films. Directed by Chris Sivertson ( I Know Who Killed Me, All Cheerleaders Die ) and starring Christina Ricci, MONSTROUS will be available to download via Sky Store, Virgin Movies, Apple TV / iTunes and Amazon, as well as Google Play and Xbox, after screening to rapturous applause at Glasgow FrightFest.

Synopsis: When Laura (Christina Ricci) flees her abusive ex-husband along with her seven-year-old son Cody (Santini Barnard), she believes a new life is ahead of them in an idyllic and remote lakeside farmhouse. However, their trauma is set to grow as their physical and mental well-being and indeed their fragile existence are threatened by something monstrous that lurks in the nearby lake…

Director Chris Sivertson describes the film as: ‘ a mashup – supernatural horror, 50’s period piece, family drama, creature feature, psychological thriller – but above all it’s a character study’. He adds: “It’s impossible to talk about MONSTROUS without talking about the sublime Christina Ricci. A phenomenal performer, she carries the movie on her shoulders every step of the way. She evokes deep empathy for a single mother who’s trying to keep her world from crumbling to pieces’.

MONSTROUS stars Christina Ricci (“Yellowjackets,” The Matrix Resurrections, Buffalo ’66, Casper) , Colleen Camp (Sliver, Clue & Die Hard With a Vengeance), Santino Bernard ( Penny Dreadful: City of Angels), Don Baldaramos (Suburbicon) and Nick Vallelonga (Green Book)

MONSTROUS is a Filmmode Entertainment presentation and a Burning Sky Films and Screen Media Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment production, in association with Red Coral Finance and in partnership with Umbrelic Entertainment, Wildfire Pictures.
