Archaeon

We at Eclectica were self-isolating before it was cool, so COVID-19 isn’t going to stop us. Instead we’ve got another entry in our Director’s Lottery series, which came out with Paolo Sorrentino and his twisty, paranoid biopic of former Italian PM Guilio Andreotti, 2008’s Il Divo. Fortunately we do have some new releases to bring you, with Eclectica fave Hirokazu Kore-eda’s first film outside Japan, The Truth, released to stream. Aidan takes a look at that one, and Mick has Vintage Classics’ new Blu-Ray of Richard Burton’s gangland thriller Villain. There’s also Mark’s Bond retrospective, which this week hits the brief but fascinating Dalton era.
