Meandering Mic – Evan Butler (Mother to Earth)

Archaeon

For many fans and collectors Mother, now known as Earthbound Zero, is an odd but much beloved video game. Part RPG, part urban legend – the story of the journey from its original Japanese release to its official Western release almost a quarter of a century later is something that has been the sources of much speculation over the years. Now, a group of fans are running a Kickstarter campaign to produce a new documentary called “Mother to Earth” which charts the very involved and convoluted journey of the original Mother video game.

On this edition of Meandering Mic we’re joined by Evan Butler – one of the producers – to find out more about this fascinating insight into video games history and the mentality of true collectors.
